Small Business Loans Association
Small Business Loans Program
The SBLA Program encourages diversification and supports community economic development by making funding available, through community-run organizations, to beginning and non-traditional entrepreneurs.
Businesses eligible for SBLA loans include any companies that have experienced difficulty obtaining financing through traditional means. Businesses not eligible for assistance are those engaged in direct farming, exploration (e.g., mining and oil extraction), residential real estate and multi-level marketing schemes. Charitable organizations also do not qualify for assistance.

Standard Incentives
Commercial Property (Resolutions #26/98 & #107/98)
Construction of a new building, adding an extension to an existing building, or moving in of an approved building is eligible for the following tax exemptions:
- 100% tax exemption for the first year
- 80% tax exemption for the second year
- 60% tax exemption for the third year
- 40% tax exemption for the fourth year
- 20% tax exemption for the fifth year
The purchase of an existing business is eligible for a 25% tax exemption for each of the first four (4) years. The purchase of an existing building to start a new business is eligible for a 25% tax exemption for each of the first four (4) years.
